Judith “Judy” Csukly contributed to the Canadian art scene with over 40 years experience in visual arts. Many of her works have been sold to collectors in Canada, US, China, Cuba, Europe, South America, Australia and New Zealand.
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Judy also lived in Vancouver and Montreal. Her passion for painting was lifelong. Her original medium of choice was watercolour and charcoal, permitting spontaneity and portability while travelling. Many of these small landscape sketches were reworked into larger paintings often done in oils.
In her later works, Judy turned to acrylics and mixed medium where she could best capture the movement and energy of life as she saw it, with a colourful and vibrant palette.
Judy was also a retired Respiratory Therapist, an art instructor and mentor. A devoted wife and mother, who loved her grandchildren deeply, Judy passed away on Christmas Eve, 2023.
